Privacy policy
Effective October 5, 2026. The short version: your data exists to give you financial clarity. We don't sell it, we don't advertise with it, and we work for you — because you're the one paying.
Who we are
Bring The Receipts ("Bring", "we", "us") is operated by Midwest Services LLC,
an Indiana limited liability company. This policy covers the marketing site at
bringtr.com and the application at bringtr.com/app.
Questions or requests: hello@midwest.holdings.
What we collect
Account information. Your name, email address, and sign-in identity when you create an account.
The documents you give us. Photos and files of receipts, bills, invoices, and bank or card statements that you upload, plus the text and structured data we extract from them (merchants, amounts, dates, line items, categories).
Billing information. Subscription and payment records. Payments are processed by Stripe; your card number never touches our servers.
Optional bank connections. If you choose to link a bank account, the connection is made through Stripe Financial Connections. You authenticate directly with your bank inside Stripe's interface — your bank credentials are never seen or stored by Bring. What we receive is transaction data (dates, amounts, descriptions) for the accounts you explicitly connect, which appears in the app the same way an uploaded statement does. You can disconnect a linked account at any time.
Usage and technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) used for security, debugging, and keeping the service running.
Diagnostic error reports. When something breaks in the app on your device, the app sends us a short technical report so we can find and fix it: the error message, the page and part of the screen where it happened, the app version, and your browser and device type. If you're signed in, the report is linked to your account, so we can tell how many people a problem affects and, if needed, follow up with you about it. These reports describe the error; they are not designed to carry your documents or financial records, and we strip record identifiers out of them before they're stored. The link between a report and your account is deleted automatically within 30 days.
What we do with it
- Read your documents so you don't have to type them — extraction, categorization, and reconciliation of your spending.
- Show you budgets, forecasts, and spending insights computed from your own records.
- Operate the service: authentication, billing, support, security, and abuse prevention.
- Improve the product — using aggregate, non-identifying measures of how features perform.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your data. Not to lenders, not to advertisers, not to data brokers. Nobody buys what's in your wallet from us.
- We do not run advertising on your financial life, and we don't push credit cards, loans, or other financial products at you.
- We do not let other users see your data. Every account's records are isolated at the database level.
Who processes data on our behalf
We use a small set of service providers, each doing one job:
- Stripe — payment processing and, if you opt in, bank connections (Financial Connections).
- Railway — application hosting and file storage (United States).
- Cloudflare — network routing and protection.
- AI document-reading providers (currently Moonshot AI and Anthropic) — the automated reading of documents you upload. Excerpts of a document are sent for extraction and diagnosis; these providers process the data to provide the service to us, not for their own purposes.
Each provider receives only what its job requires, under its own contractual obligations.
How we protect it
- All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- Every record is scoped to its owner with database-level row isolation — the same boundary that keeps accounts separate keeps our own tooling honest.
- Access to production systems is restricted, logged, and limited to what operating the service requires.
Retention and deletion
We keep your records for as long as you keep your account — the entire point of the app is a durable record of your spending. If you close your account, or email us a deletion request, we delete your documents and personal data within 30 days, except for the minimum we're legally required to keep (for example, billing records for tax purposes).
Your choices and rights
- You can access and correct your information in the app.
- You can disconnect a linked bank account at any time; this stops all future transaction retrieval.
- You can request a copy of your data, or its deletion, at hello@midwest.holdings. We respond to every request, and applicable law may give you additional rights depending on where you live.
Children
Bring The Receipts is a financial tool for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll say so plainly — the effective date at the top always tells you when it last changed, and material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
